Triple Excellence

Bucchieri – Ekman – Lidberg

Three ballets in one evening!

New choreography by Pontus Lidberg, Giovanni Bucchieri and Alexander Ekman. Three exciting choreographers, active both in Sweden and internationally. They are each creating a work for the Royal Swedish Ballet, where they were previously dancers.

The Little Match Girl Passion

Pontus Lidberg has created a  choregraphy where the lonely girl remains a child while the people around her are completely occupied with themselves. The choreography is inspired by David Langs Pulitzerprice-winning composition with the same name.

Pontus Lidberg has created works for The Royal Danish Ballet, The Beijing Dance Theatre and other international dance companies, as well as for his own group Pontus Lidberg Dance. He has also directed two dance films: The Rain (2007) and Labyrinth Within (2011). From the season 2012/13 he is artistic director in residence of Morphoses, New York.

Kom ni döttrar

-Kom ni döttrar is memories. Memories I´ve had, memories I never want to experience again, and memories I wish to have, says choreographer Giovanni Bucchieri.

Giovanni Bucchieri is not only a dancer and a choreographer, but also an actor, musician and composer. He has been a member of the Cullberg Ballet, among others, and has worked as choreographer for Stockholm 59 North. The music is composed by Stefan Levin.

Tyll

Tyll is an affectionat commentary to classical ballet where Alexander Ekman explores the borderland between classical and contemporary ballet.

Alexander Ekman has worked as choreographer for the Cullberg Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Ballet de l'Opera du Rhin, and the Iceland Dance Company, among others. From 2011 to 2013 he will be Choreographer in Residence for NDT 2. The music for the work by Alexander Ekman is composed by Mikael Karlsson.
