La Sylphide

Kan man fånga en dröm?

Ballet in two acts

James is seduced by the sylph – a female air spirit – on his wedding day. The witch Madge gives him a shawl to catch the sylph with, but when he tries, her wings fall off and she dies. Is it possible to capture a dream? August Bournonville’s version of this tragic ballet is one of the oldest choreographies still being performed by ballet companies around the world.
