Busses to the Opera
The following busses have stops next to the Opera house or in convenient walking distance:

Disabilities
Taxis can drive on the ramp on the front side of the house all the way to the main entrance which facilities for people in wheelchairs. There are lifts to each tier and special seats for wheelchairs in the stalls and in some boxes. Toilets for the disabled are available on the stalls level on the left hand side. The auditorium is equipped with a hearing loop.
Dress code
There is no dress code at the Royal Opera, though to dress up might help make the evening more special. It is usual to dress more elegantly during premiers. Dress so that you feel comfortable about yourself!
Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers in values SEK 100 and 500 are available at the Royal Opera’s Box Office.
Guided tours of the Opera house
Every Saturday at 1 pm, Septmeber - May, we offer those interested to join an exciting guided tour of the Opera House. Tickets cost SEK 100 and are available at the Royal Opera’s Box Office. The number of tickets are limited.
Guided tours for parties of at least 15 persons: call weekdays at 9 am to 4 pm, phone number +46-8-791 44 50 or by
e-mail. The price is SEK 50 per person. The tours are arranged weekdays 9.30-10.30 am or 5.00-6.00 pm.
Late arrivals
When the performance has begun, no one is allowed to enter the auditorium. The doors are closed at the appointed time of the performance. Late arrivals can watch the first act on a TV monitor placed in the foyer of the main entrance.
Mobile phones, beepers, etc.
For the comfort of all, mobile phones should be turned off during the entire stay at the Royal Opera. During the performance alarms, beepers and other technical equipment which can disturb should be turned off.
Opera glasses
You can rent opera glasses in the wardrobes at the second and third tier.
Parking
In the nearby Galleria garage (owned by Stockholm Parking) you can park at 6 pm to 1 am, for only SEK 30. Addresses to the parking garage are Regeringsgatan 17 and 20, Klara Ö Kyrkogata 4 and Herkulesgatan 10-16.
Perfume
Please consider that many persons are sensitive to strong fragrances. It is advisable not to use perfume during your stay at the Royal Opera to make the stay more pleasent for those with allergies.
Photography and recording
All photography and recording during performances is prohibited.
Programs
Programs are available for SEK 40 in the Royal Opera’s Box Office. The program of tonight’s performance is available by the warderobes.
Red lanterns
If tonight’s performance is sold out red lanterns are lit above the main entrance. The lanterns are normally lit at 4 pm. At a matiné the lanterns are lit when the Box Office opens. When a performance is sold out differs between ballet and opera, since listening seats are sold at operas and seldom at ballets. There are often seats left even when the red lantern is lit, but the sight from the seats available might be somewhat blocked.
Ringing in
The ringing in tells you that it’s time to go to the auditorium and take your seat. It will ring once 15 minutes before, twice 5 minutes before and three times 2 minutes before the performance starts. During the intermissions it will ring once 5 minutes before, twice 3 minutes before and three times 2 minutes before the performance continues.
Seat-cushions
For small children and persons who have difficulties seeing the stage from the chairs of the auditorium, there are seat-cushions available at the warderobes.
Serving of coffee, beer, wine, sandwiches, etc.
The Opera café, downstairs from the main entrance, is open in connection to performances, approximately one hour before the appointed time of the performance. There are also Cafés on the stalls and the tiers levels. These open approximately 30 minutes before the performance starts. All cafés are open in the intermissions. You can place your order before the performance without charge. In the Golden Foyer a champagne bar is available and open in the intermissions. Responsible for serving at the Royal Opera is Gustav III Kafé AB. It is not allowed to bring food or beverages into the auditorium.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed at the Royal Opera.
Souveniers
Posters, books, postcards, opera and ballet CD and DVD:s are available at the Royal Opera’s Box Office, along with other souvenirs such as Opera t-shirts, key rings, Opera bags, pens, etc. A selection of souvenirs is available in the main entrance in connection to the performances.

Underground to the Opera
Lines 10 and 11: Underground station Kungsträdgården, entrance Gustav Adolfs torg/Operan. Both lines are connected to all other underground lines at station T-Centralen (the Central Station), only one stop away from Kungsträdgården. Entrances to the station Kungsträdgården in the corner of Regeringsgatan/Jakobsgatan and at Arsenalsgatan near Blasieholmstorg. Both are open until midnight all performance nights.
Wardrobes
Wardrobes are available at the stalls and at the tiers. Price: SEK 30 per person.
