Back Home Summer at the Royal Swedish Opera

WARM days and BEAUTIFUL evenings in a MAGNIFICENT setting

We are starting a new season with an extensive summer program. Meet us out and about in Stockholm and join us on our digital stage for some great summer listening! The summer offers everything from opera, ballet, concert and close collaborations, and at the end of August we start the autumn season with Die Zauberflöte.
A warm welcome to a summer with the Royal Opera!

Doors and windows are open, drinks are cooled and in the kitchen the chefs prepare the best of the season… You do know that the Royal Swedish Opera is open all summer?

Do not miss our atmospheric summer concerts in a beautiful setting with the Opera’s own artists. Or why not go on a guided tour of our historic opera house, to then visit one of our terraces for something to eat and drink to a fantastic view.
We are open in the summer from June 29 to August 13. The ticket office/information desk is then open Wednesdays to Saturdays between 1.30 p.m. and 6 p.m..

Summer concerts

The Royal Swedish Opera’s popular summer concerts are performed Wednesdays through Saturdays at 5.30 p.m. between June 29 and August 13. Opera arias, tango, Nordic classics and beautiful chamber music by some of our most beloved composers - and with the Royal Swedish Opera’s own artists.

Guided tours

During the summer, there are no performances on our main stage. We therefore take the opportunity to do maintenance of the stage floor, the machinery and polish the huge chandelier in our auditorium. Join us on a guided tour through the opera house and listen to our staff's stories that are not written down in any guidebook. Our guided tours are given Wednesdays through Saturdays at 2 p.m. in both Swedish and English.
