2018.2019 Season at the Royal Swedish Opera
A fresh new season announced at the Royal Swedish Opera - exciting new creations and beloved classics.
Premieres in the opera section include Tristessa, Rigoletto, Carmen and King Roger. And Madama Butterfly, Aida, La Bohème, Dialogues des Carmélites, Don Giovanni, Dracula as well as The Merry Widow are all back on the main stage this coming season.
The Royal Swedish Ballet welcomes back Alexander Ekman in a much anticipated bill. Public favorites such as The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty are back, and a specially commissioned piece, Der Prozess, crowns the ballet season in May 2019. Plus Trinity and DANCING | FORWARD: two specially composed evenings with mixed bills.
The Young at the Opera section presents the world premiere of NÄR DÅ DÅ, an opera creation by popular Swedish childrens' book writer Pija Lindenbaum and a re-interpretation of Handels Orlando.
