ARTISTIC TEAM IOLANTA
Sergey Novikov (director) was born in Nizhny Novgorod.
In 2015, he won first prize at a competition for young directors arranged by Helikon-opera (II International Competition for Young Opera Directors) where he directed Jolanta in 2019. He has also staged a semi-stage version of Verdi's Requiem with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2020, Sergey Novikov directed Dargomyzhsky's Rusalka (Tchaikovsky Concert Hall) and in 2021 Tchaikovsky's Oprichnik at the Mikhailovsky Theater.
Alexander Kupalyan is educated at Moscow State Academic Art and the Accademia di belle arti di Napoli. In 2012, he received the Russian Academy of Fine Arts' award for the exhibition New Manege. Alexander has been part of the production group Shakespeare Night and he an extensive exhibition activities in Russia.
Maria Vysotskaya has done costume design for more than 20 artistic productions. In 2021, she received the Russian Academy of Fine Arts' silver medal for her work with Iolanta, Romeo and Juliet and Anne Frank; In 2017, she received the academy's gold medal. The performances include Orfeo ed Euridice by Glück, Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev and Anthony and Cleopatra by Shakespeare. She conducts extensive exhibition activities.
Light designer Denis Enyukov has worked at the Helikon Opera since 1998 and regularly with the opera's artistic director Dmitry Bertman.
He has staged performances such as Kashchey the Deathless, Mozart and Salieri, several operas by Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Verdi, Dialogues of the Carmelites, etc.
