Let yourself be swept up in a dizzyingly beautiful ballet! The choreographer Jiří Kylián invites us on a journey through time, light and space. It engages with what he describes as »moments when our dreams penetrate into our lives and our lives into our dreams«. Bella Figura also represents the resilience people show in difficult situations
Bella Figura – one of Kylián’s foremost ballets – was first performed at Nederlands Dans Theater in 1995 and has been a worldwide success ever since. This is the first time it is shown at the Royal Swedish Opera.
A woman is dancing with a table. She is offered a glass of life-giving water that quenches her thirst. She drinks the water. Mats Ek’s överbord (woman with water), which premiered at the Royal Swedish Opera in 2020, is a work inspired by a form of expression that Ek has worked with for over 30 years.
Mats Ek and the Royal Swedish Ballet presents a work full of the energy, emotions and dynamics that makes this artist unique. woman with water is dedicated to Marie-Louise Ekman.
The American choreographer William Forsythe has reinvented neoclassical ballet. Like no other, he knows the traditional form well at the same time as he flips it over and makes it reappear in a new guise.
In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated has changed ballet forever. It was commissioned by Rudolf Nureyev for L’Opera de Paris in 1987 and has been performed worldwide. This is a chance for the audience to yet again experience this modern classic.
