TOSCA
PASSION, treason
and violent DEATH
The opera singer Tosca and her lover Cavaradossi’s tragic destinies are told through music that is as dramatic and brutal as it is dazzlingly beautiful. During an intense, passionate 24 hours we follow the lovers’ tragic path towards disaster, orchestrated by the cruel chief of police, Baron Scarpia. Several of the arias and duets are among the most popular in the history of opera, and Tosca has it all: great passion, desire, treason and violent death.
Since it premiered in 1900, Puccini’s Tosca remains one of the most frequently performed operas in the world. The director Knut Hendriksen has produced a beautiful, classic opera based on real-life venues in Rome. As Tosca we will see the super soprano Malin Byström, winner of the International Opera Awards 2018 – the opera version of the Academy Awards.
We will continue to play and are welcoming a limited audience of 50 people. We have made safety arrangements throughout the Opera house for your and our safety.
