Austrian soprano Christina Gansch was the winner of the 2014 Ferrier Award and graduated with distinction from the Mozarteum, Salzburg and the Royal Academy of Music, London. During her studies Christina made her international operatic debut in Montpellier as Amore (Orfeo et Euridice – 2013) followed by Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Theater an der Wien under Nicolaus Harnoncourt in 2014. Christina was part of the Hamburgische Staatsoper for three years (2014-16 International Opera Studio, 2016/17 Ensemble) during which she sang roles including Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Marzelline (Fidelio), Gretchen (Faustszenen) and Almira (Almira). She represented Austria in the finals of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition 2021.
Christina has appeared on some of the world’s greatest Opera stages including La Scala as Najade (Ariadne auf Naxos), Bayerische Staatsoper as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Glyndebourne Festival Opera as Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande), Opéra National de Paris as Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Berliner Staatsoper as Waldvogel (Siegfried), Opéra national de Lorraine as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and the Salzburg Festival as Servillia (La Clemenza di Tito) and Fünfte Magd (Elektra).
Christina performs regularly at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in roles such as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Servilia (La Clemenza di Tito), Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte). Following an highly acclaimed appearance as Dorinda (Orlando) at San Francisco Opera, Christina returned there in 2022 as Zerlina (Don Giovanni).
In the 2025/2026 season, Christina Gansch will make her début at the Royal Swedish Opera as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro.
