Bring the class to our daytime school performances. Each year, we create a selection of performances that are particularly suitable for school classes of different ages.
A more fun lesson
Take your class to the Royal Swedish Opera and experience eternal themes filtered through the present – love, friendship, and all the other great emotions! Each year we give a number of performances on the smaller stage, the Rotunda, and some on the Main Stage.
The tickets cost SEK 70 (at the Rotunda) and SEK 100 respectively (on the Main Stage) per student.
Also keep in mind that everyone under the age of 26 goes to the Opera's regular performances for half the regular price in the entire auditorium.

Lost (Vilse)
Opera from 6 years of age. Lost is a whimsical dream play that is reminiscent of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Plays October-November 2026.

Prepare your visit with your class!

The guide is a support for you who are a teacher and will visit the Opera with your class, or who are thinking about doing so. It is divided into three parts.
The first part presents the art forms of opera and ballet. The second part highlights the performing arts experience itself, and questions about how art and culture can be linked to both learning and democracy. It also touches on what research says about children's audiences and their experiences of performing arts. The third part contains tips for the time before, during and after your visit, as well as suggestions for various exercises to do in the classroom both before and after you have seen a performance.

Can we bring a packed lunch?
Sometimes a performance may take place close to lunch. If you contact us well in advance, we can offer a place to sit down and eat your own food. But you need to book! Contact us for more information at [email protected].

Where do we put our clothes and bags?
At performances on the Main Stage, there are cloakrooms adjacent to your seats. At the Rotunda there is a cloakroom right at the entrance to the room. Please note that you are not allowed to bring bags into the auditorium/stage areas.

Anything in particular we should consider?
Keep in mind that many young people are experiencing opera or ballet for the first time when they visit the Opera. We therefore recommend that you go through the teacher's guide for the performance together. Also, don't miss our web series "The Magic House".
