Baritone based in Stockholm, Sweden. He grew up in the Swedish city of Uppsala. He started his singing career in the Cathedral Boys’ Choir before starting to sing as a soloist.
Helgi studied at the Royal College of Music and the University College of Opera in Stockholm, where his principal teacher was Erik Årman.
He has worked with conductors including Peter Gülke, Domingo Hindoyan, Anna-Maria Helsing, Tobias Ringborg and David Stern and stage directors including Georg Quander, Deborah Cohen and Jennifer Williams.
He has sung roles and as a soloist in many opera houses and concert venues such as The Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, Folkoperan, the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera, Confidencen, Berwaldhallen, Konserthuset i Stockholm and Malmö Live. During the fall of 2022 Helgi did his big debut as Papageno at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm where he also sang Masetto in Don Giovanni in 2023 and 2024. In 2026 he will return as Papageno again at the Royal Swedish Opera.
