Ida Falk Winland made her role debut as Madama Butterfly at Gothenburg Opera in the 2024/2025 season. She has also appeared at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, where she sang the role of Helene in Kasper Holten’s production of Manfred Trojahn’s Orest. In the previous season, she performed Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Gothenburg Opera and Violetta in La traviata at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm.

Ida Falk Winland has been engaged as a soloist at Gothenburg Opera since 2014, where she has appeared in roles such as Mimì in La bohème, Gilda in Rigoletto, Nedda in Pagliacci, the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Ilia in Idomeneo, Morgana in Alcina under the direction of Laurence Cummings, Adalgisa in Norma, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, and the opera diva Beate Bella Bravura in the Christmas musical Kaos och Julglitter.

She made her critically acclaimed role debut as Violetta in La traviata in 2019 at the Royal Swedish Opera, where she has also appeared as Gilda in Rigoletto, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Romilda in Serse. In spring 2026, she returns to sing the role of Liù in Turandot.

Ida Falk Winland has appeared at the prestigious Glyndebourne Festival as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and has performed the same role at Opéra National de Paris under the baton of maestro Philippe Jordan. At Teatro alla Scala, she has appeared as First Niece in Peter Grimes, and she has been a guest at the Helsinki Festival as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. She has sung Cunégonde in Bernstein’s Candide at Opéra National de Lorraine in Nancy, and Cecily in Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and Opéra National de Lorraine. She has also appeared at the Internationale Händel-Festspiele in Göttingen as Poppea in Handel’s Agrippina.

Ida Falk Winland has worked with conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Sakari Oramo, Marc Minkowski, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Harding, and Valery Gergiev. A frequent concert soloist, she has performed with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

Ida Falk Winland studied at the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio in London.

In 2018, she was awarded the Opera Prize for her performance as Adalgisa in Gothenburg Opera’s production of Norma, an award voted for by the readers of Tidskriften Opera.
