In recent years, mezzo-soprano Johanna Rudström has been engaged as a guest soloist at the Royal Swedish Opera with roles such as Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Beggar in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni.
Previous roles at the Royal Swedish Opera include Angelina in La Cenerentola and Eve/Young Tristessa at the world premiere of Tristessa.
Johanna has visited the Opera in Geneva where she appeared in the role of La Styliste in Cherubini’s Medea. She has also participated in the newly written opera Son of Heaven by Japanese composer Moto Osada at the Vadstena Academy.
Johanna Rudström graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm in the spring of 2014. She has also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and at the Malmö Academy of Music. In the summer of 2013, Johanna Rudström participated in the Vadstena Academy’s production of Marie Samuelsson’s Jorun, snake in the eye.
