Roma Loukes, who comes from Dorset in the UK, trained at the Birmingham Conservatoire and the Opera Academy in Stockholm.
She has been employed by the Royal Swedish Opera Chorus since 2023. She has appeared in soloist roles at the Royal Swedish Opera such as Ortlinde in Die Walküre, Flowermaiden in Parsifal and A Girl in Le nozze di Figaro.
She has also been engaged as a freelance singer in the choir at the Gothenburg Opera, Wermlandsoperan and Opera Holland Park as well as in the ensemble for musicals such as Kristina från Duvemåla and The Phantom of the Opera where she also covered the role of Confidante. She sang the role of Ella-Stina in the children's opera Pan's Enchanted Garden for OperaRop.
Abroad, she has sung roles such as Euridice in Glück's Orfeo ed Euridice for Festivale di Cantiere di Montepulciano and Paula in the newly written opera Nine Stories High for Welsh National Opera.
Roma Loukes appears regularly as a concert and oratorio soloist.
In the 2025/2026 season, Roma Loukes will once again sing the role of A Girl in Le nozze di Figaro.
