The love duet in the first act; The Ride of the Valkyries, which opens the third act; the magic fire music in the finale – Die Walküre is full of iconic moments. Experience Staffan Valdemar Holm’s highly acclaimed version of Richard Wagner’s exceptional music drama. Hear Ingela Brimberg as the valkyrie Brünnhilde and John Lundgren as her father Wotan!

The god Wotan is in trouble. His human children, Siegmund and Sieglinde, fall in love with each other. Wotan’s wife Fricka, goddess of marriage, becomes infuriated over the adultery, and she forces Wotan to order the death of Siegmund. But Wotan’s favourite daughter Brünnhilde, who is the one to kill Siegmund, turns out to have a will of her own. Die Walküre is the most beloved of the four operas that comprise Der Ring des Nibelungen. It is a family saga of epic proportions to dazzlingly beautiful music.
