Their Majesties' Golden Wedding Jubilee Concert
On June 13, a musical festive atmosphere awaits Thei Majesties The King and The Queen at the Opera, when we celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with a concert. The evening will start with a wedding march followed by classics and favorites from the opera repertoire with court singers Daniel Johansson, Karl-Magnus Fredriksson and Elin Rombo among the soloists. The Royal Swedish Ballet will also present several dance performances, including excerpts from Alexander Ekman's Midsummer Night's Dream.
Together with the Royal Opera Chorus the Royal Swedish Orchestra and Royal Court Kapellmeister Alan Gilbert, the Royal Swedish Opera will present a golden-edged gift with several surprises, directed by artistic director Tobias Theorell. The concert will also be broadcast on television, so that everyone can take part in the celebrations.
