Gasworks Day

Gasverksdagen (Gasworks Day) on Saturday, September 5 at 11am-4pm

The Royal Swedish Opera will soon move to Norra Djurgårdsstaden: from 2027, Gasometer will be our main stage. And you can already familiarize yourself with the neighbourhood. Gasworks Day is a family party where several of the buildings in the gasworks area will open up and tenants and other local key players will offer a variety of try-on activities, a wide range of food and interesting insights into the urban development around the Gasworks.

Gasworks Day is being arranged for the seventh year in a row by CA Fastigheter and the City of Stockholm in collaboration with local restaurants, businesses and sports clubs, construction companies in the area and several of the city's various businesses.

Young Opera (Unga Operan) will be on site with activities for children and young people. Between 11am and 4pm, children can try on costumes from the Royal Swedish Opera's costume store and test out what it feels like to dance in real pointe shoes in the tent of the Young Opera.

The Gasworks area is located in Norra Djurgårdsstaden. Take bus 6 to Drevergatan or bus 57 to Jaktgatan, or take the red metro line to Ropsten and choose the Hjorthagen/Gasverket exit (about a ten-minute walk along the sports field), take shuttle boat 80 to Ropsten or cycle about fifteen minutes from the city center.
