Lovisa Huledal, mezzo-soprano, is born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. After her studies in Sweden, Germany and Italy she mainly works in Sweden as a freelance singer within opera, lied and sacred music.
Lovisa made her debut at The Royal Swedish Opera as Mercédès in Bizet's Carmen in the autumn of 2024. Since she finished her studies in 2021 she has performed several roles ranging from early baroque to contemporary music, working with Folkoperan, Opera på Skäret, Vadstena-Akademien, Skånska operan and the free opera group Den Andra Operan. The season of 23/24 she was part of Folkoperan's Young Talent Programme where she was engaged in Tidens Larm and Vita hästen (Im weissen Rößl). The spring of 2025 she returned to Folkoperan as Second Lady in Mozart's The magic flute, a production that also plays at Uppsala stadsteater.
In 2023, Lovisa sang Maddalena and Giovanna in Opera at Skäret's production of Verdi's Rigoletto and participated in Den Andra Opera's productions of Caccini Revisited at Confidencen and Den siste Trollkarlen (Le dernier sorcier by Pauline Viardot) at Hallwylska museet. In 2022, Lovisa was named a Christina Nilsson scholarship holder and could be heard, among other things, as Yelena Popova in Skånska Opera's anniversary production of William Walton's The Bear, as Prince Arieno in Vadstena-Akademien's production of Il colore fa la regina and as a soloist with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra.
During her studies, Lovisa has also performed roles such as Mrs. Grose in Britten's The turn of the screw, Zita in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Isabella in Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri and A in the premiere of the opera Glashaus by Marc D. Ferrum.
Lovisa is a highly regarded concert and oratorio singer and has an extensive repertoar. In 2024 she sang the alto solo part in the world premiere of Fredrik Sixten's Stabat Mater. She also regularly performs song and lied programs and has a special interest in performing and promoting music written by women.
Lovisa has a master's degree in solo singing from The Royal College of Music in Stockholm and a master's degree in opera singing from the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in Germany. In 2015, she studied through exchange studies in Milan, Italy at the Conservatorio di musica Giuseppe Verdi.
Lovisa has received scholarships from the Royal Musical Academy, Folkoperans vänförening, Vadstena-Akademiens vänförening, The Royal College of music in Stockholm and Drottningholmsteaterns vänförening among others. In 2024 Lovisa received Helga Görlin's scholarship from Stiftelsen Kungliga Teatern Solister.
