Simon Bailey, who lives in Frankfurt am Main, has a wide repertoire with more than 100 operatic roles, ranging from the Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlos to Mozart roles such as Leporello and Figaro, Italian buffa and Jochanaan in Richard Strauss’s Salome.
In recent years, his repertoire has increasingly shifted to Wagner roles such as Wotan (Das Rheingold, Die Walküre) and Der Wanderer (Siegfried) in Cologne, Wiesbaden, Lucerne and Dresden, alongside roles such as Balstrode (Peter Grimes) and Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia).
