Niklas Strömstedt — Tyck OM mig

I’ve always thought it’s both fun and challenging to do something more than just a straight-up, ordinary concert when I get the chance to meet an audience. Over the years, I’ve wrestled with malfunctioning slide projectors, had heated dialogues with myself in the form of a life-sized cardboard cutout, ridden in a triumphal chariot dressed as a gladiator, and even toured with a real therapist who gave me therapy on stage between songs.

In 2023, the book OM Niklas Strömstedt was published – a self-biographical journey through both the small, everyday life and the more public career. While working on that book, the idea was born to let it become the foundation for a stage performance.

Which songs made the hairs on your arms stand up? What did Evert Taube say when he called? How do you break free from that paralyzing and destructive silence? And when there’s suddenly a turkey hanging under your chin – what the heck do you do then? And love – can anyone really make sense of it?
