New Year's Concerts
End the year in great style!

DATE:January 31

STAGE:Main stage
The year traditionally ends with New Year's Eve celebrations on the Royal Swedish Opera's main stage with the Royal Swedish Orchestra and opera soloists. To meet the great demand for tickets, we can offer two concert opportunities this year!
Brighten up your New Year's Eve with a wonderful concert experience on the Royal Swedish Opera! Enjoy the playing of the Royal Swedish Orchestra and the singing of soloists Sofie Asplund and David Risberg. Oleksandr Yankevych from Ukraine is the conductor. New for this year is that the concert is given twice on New Year's Eve: at 3 P.M. and at 6.30 P.M. Choose the time that suits you best, and enjoys a refreshing drink in the Golden Foyer during the break, toast to the year that has passed and the new one to come!
This year's New Year's concert offers musical journeys to the Vienna of operettas and waltzes and to belle époque Paris, with some detours in the form of music by Ethel Smyth, George Gershwin and Hans Christian Lumbye's Champagne Galop. The concert begins with the rousing overture from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and a duet from the same opera, the first of many duets during this lovely and luxurious concert!
