Jonas Degerfeldt is associated with the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, where he has sung roles such as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, An Italian Singer in Capriccio, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Fenton in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Don José in Carmen and Leicester in Mary Stuart. Recent seasons have included Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Lenskij in Eugene Onegin, Alfredo in La traviata, Rodolfo in La bohème, Fenton in Falstaff, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, the title role in Werther, Chevalier de la Force in Dialogue des Carmelites and Narraboth in Salome. During the 2012/2013 season, Jonas Degerfeldt guested at Den Norske Opera as Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus.
During the 2024/2025 season, Jonas appeared in Carmen, Wozzeck and Le nozze di Figaro at the Royal Swedish Opera. During the 2025/2026 season, he sings in Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte and the new production of Madama Butterfly (as Goro).
Jonas Degerfeldt has appeared at Drottningholm's Palace Theater as Ferrando in Così fan tutte (summers 2000 and 2001), Gustav III in the premiere of Miklós Maro's Kastrater (summer 2004) and the title role in Mozart's Idomeneo in 2014. He has sung Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at Scottish Opera, Ramiro in Cinderella at La Monnaie in Brussels, Sam Polk in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah and Lenskij at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Finnish National Opera and Lenskij in Spoleto and at the Norwegian Opera in Oslo. The summer of 2002 included Achilles in Gluck's Iphigénie en Aulide at the Glyndebourne Festival. In the fall of 2002, he was engaged as a cover in this role at the Teatro alla Scala and sang it concertante at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
As a concert soloist, Jonas Degerfeldt appears in works such as Handel's The Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Bach's Passions and Haydn's Die Schöpfung and Die Jahreszeiten. Among his concert performances can be mentioned Mozart's Requiem, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Die Schöpfung and Franz Schmidt's Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln; all with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Manfred Honeck. Under Laurence Renes, he has sung Don Ottavio in concert performances of Don Giovanni with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Mozart's Requiem with the Royal Philharmonic in Stockholm's Concert Hall.
Jonas Degerfeldt was born in Skellefteå. He is educated at the Academy of Music in Gothenburg and the Academy of Opera in Stockholm. In the spring of 2001, he was awarded the Set Svanholm scholarship.
