The very best from the Royal Swedish Ballet in one performance – tulle, en pointe and Serge Lifar’s large formations meet techno syncopations in William Forsythe’s iconic language. The two 20th century iconic choreographers changed the dance world in completely different ways with Suite en blanc and In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated. A showcase of technical precision and perfection in the Neo-Classical and contemporary style.

Choreographer Serge Lifar’s signature work Suite en blanc is a brilliant neoclassical ballet – a dazzling display of precision and beauty. Lifar, who came out of the Ballets Russes in Paris, elevated classical ballet to new artistic heights during the 20th century. The powerful score, both muscular and sensual, was composed by Edouard Lalo for the ballet Namouna, which premiered in 1882.

William Forsythe, born in New York, is the groundbreaking choreographer who transformed Ballett Frankfurt into one of the world’s leading dance companies during his tenure as artistic director. His In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated was last performed by the Royal Swedish Ballet in autumn 2021. In its review, Dagens Nyheter described the piece as “a work that explodes the language of classical dance, sending the dancers flying across the stage like gloves in the air to Thom Willems’ techno-infused syncopations.”
