Spring at the Opera offers a wide range of activities for our younger visitors.
Children’s Saturdays and Holiday fun at the Opera include everything from costume try‑ons, opera singing, guided tours, and trying out instruments to beginner’s ballet. On 27 March, the world premiere of Askungen will take place — a performance combining opera singing and contemporary dance in a wild fairytale, staged in the Rotunda. And on 14 May, the Family Concert with the Royal Swedish Orchestra will be performed on the main stage, taking the whole family on a journey through music history — 500 years in 50 minutes.

Royal Swedish Opera

The Royal Swedish Opera is Sweden's national stage for opera and ballet, founded by King Gustav III in 1773. The heart of opera in Sweden and home to opera singers, the Royal Swedish Opera Chorus and the Royal Swedish Ballet, the country's only classical ballet company and one of the world's oldest. The Royal Swedish Orchestra is also one of the oldest in the world, founded in 1526. We offer both adults and children strong emotions, tulle, pointe and tragedy.
