IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA from the ROYAL SWEDISH OPERA – in cinemas throughout Sweden

Having difficulties making it to Stockholm? No problems. From April 6, you can experience the opera classic Il barbiere di Siviglia signed Rossini in a broadcast from The Royal Swedish Opera to cinemas throughout Sweden – thanks to our partnership with Folkets Hus och Parker. 

One of the greatest opera classics of all time – in a new guise. Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini’s masterpiece of comedy, is not only a work of sublime farce, but also a story of male friendship, class, the young generation versus the old and a young woman’s struggle for freedom. Inspired by commedia dell’arte and the idea of the house as a place charged with symbolic meaning, director Linus Fellbom, stage designer Julia Przedmojska and costume designer Lena Lindgren explore in depth one of our most beloved operas, vitalise it and make it sparkle. Luthando Qave sings the role of the scheming barber Figaro, Konu Kim appears as Count Almaviva and Rosina is portrayed by Dara Savinova.
