Richard Hamrin
Richard Hamrin, actor and opera singer (baritone), educated at the University College of Opera in Stockholm with a bachelor's and master's degree. In the 2022-2023 season, Richard played the role of Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at Folkoperan in Stockholm, and Gustav III/Jupiter at Ulriksdals Slottsteater Confidencen. Most recently, he comes from Kulturhuset Stadsteatern where he played the play Från en beundrare.
In the 2020-2021 season, he got his bigger breakthrough with the Royal Swedish Opera's one-man performance Klaus Nomi, which was nominated for one of the best at the Performing Arts Biennial 2020, selected for Swedstage and also by Swedish Television.
He made his debut as Moralès in Carmen at the Royal Swedish Opera, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at Confidencen, and in Basel. At Drottningholm Palace Theatre, Richard has appeared in the role of Delfa in Il Giasone and Count Robinson in Il matrimonio segreto, at Vadstena Academy as Li Si in Son of Heaven and Lane and Merriman in The importance of being Earnest. He has also performed roles such as Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus at the Wermland Opera and Marullo in Rigoletto at the German Wernigerode Schlossfestspiele.
During the 2018-19 season, Richard was attached to the Landestheater Detmold in Germany, singing roles such as Roderich der Weert in the operetta Der Vetter aus Dingsda as well as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte.
In the autumn of 2019, he performed the role of Seeräuber Jenny in Folkoperan's production of Die Dreigroschenoper with great success. At Malmö Opera, Richard has sung Pluto in Orpheus in the Underworld, and Sergeant Albert in the newly written opera Det går an.
